Private Universities Founders Association members held a follow-up engagement with the Minister for Education and his Deputy on 23 April 2025 as part of continuing advocacy for stronger policy support for private higher education institutions.
The discussions included the participation of Ghana Tertiary Education Commission officials and focused on access to national support mechanisms such as GETFund and student-loan opportunities, as well as the development of private-university faculty.
The Minister announced a seven-member committee to review tertiary education legislation, including consideration of a voluntary rather than compulsory Presidential Charter model for established private university colleges.
Marshalls’ President and Founder, Dr. Tetteh Nettey, was nominated by PUFA to serve on the committee. The university described the development as an opportunity to contribute practical institutional experience to national higher-education reform.
