Marshalls participates in parliamentary deliberations on key education bills

On 10 March 2026, Marshalls University College participated in a high-level engagement with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education at Labadi Beach Hotel. The meeting brought together representatives from academia, government, regulatory bodies and other education-sector stakeholders.

Marshalls was represented by its Founder and President, Dr. Tetteh Nettey, who also serves as an Executive Member of the Board of the Private Universities Founders Association, Ghana. The engagement considered the University of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences Bill, 2025 and the Education Regulatory Bodies (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

Among the issues discussed was the proposed move to make the Presidential Charter optional for private universities while strengthening regulatory oversight and accreditation. The deliberations explored how institutional autonomy could be balanced with strong quality-assurance mechanisms.

Marshalls said its participation reflects a continued commitment to national policy dialogue and to educational reforms that support quality, accessibility, innovation and long-term development of Ghana’s higher education system.
