A MARSHALLS MILESTONE IN PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERSHIP: DR. TETTEH NETTEY JOINS PUFA-GH EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AT 1ST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

In a proud moment that marks yet another milestone in the leadership journey of Marshalls University College, our Founder and President, Dr. Tetteh Nettey, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Private Universities Founders Association of Ghana (PUFA-GH) at its 1st Annual General Meeting held on Thursday, 22nd May 2025, at the Secretariat of the Association hosted by Wisconsin International University College, North Legon, Accra.

PUFA-GH, since its establishment in February 2023, has rapidly positioned itself as a pivotal force in the national tertiary education space — advocating for equity, visibility, and strategic support for private universities in Ghana. The 1st AGM was a defining moment of reflection, realignment, and renewal of leadership as the Association entered a new phase of influence and growth.

Marshalls at the Table of Influence

Dr. Tetteh Nettey’s induction into the eleven-member Executive Committee is a testament to the visionary leadership and unrelenting pursuit of excellence that Marshalls has exemplified over the years. His appointment was made possible through a kind and commendable nomination by Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Kingsley Larbi, Founder and President of Regent University College and a stalwart of private tertiary education in Ghana.

Dr. Nettey joins a team of highly respected academic founders and institutional leaders whose collective expertise will shape policy engagement, advocate reforms, and advance the mission of private universities across the nation. The new Executive team reflects the diverse strengths and unified purpose of private universities determined to chart a bold future.

A Renewed Commitment to Educational Sovereignty

The AGM highlighted the impressive strides made by PUFA-GH in engaging key stakeholders, including the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the Ministry of Education, and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education. Notably, the Association was formally hosted in March 2025 by Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, and his Deputy, Hon. Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, where bankable commitments were made to enhance the policy and operational environment for private universities.

Dr. Nettey’s elevation to the Executive Committee is both a recognition of his strategic contributions and an opportunity to amplify the voice of Marshalls University College in national conversations on higher education.

Gratitude and Forward Motion

Marshalls University College expresses profound appreciation to Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Kingsley Larbi for his gracious nomination and continued belief in the calibre of leadership emerging from our institution. His unwavering advocacy for private education and collegial spirit represent the kind of inter-institutional collaboration that PUFA-GH seeks to nurture.

In Service of a Greater Purpose

As Marshalls aligns more deeply with PUFA-GH’s vision, we remain steadfast in our mission to transform lives through world-class education, innovation, and leadership. Dr. Tetteh Nettey’s appointment marks a new era of visibility, influence, and purposeful partnership for Marshalls within Ghana’s higher education landscape.

We congratulate Dr. Nettey on this well-deserved honour and pledge our institutional support as he joins hands with like-minded leaders to strengthen the role of private universities as equal partners in national development.

Marshalls. Be Inspired. Be Transformed. Be the Future.
